My Favorite Little Sweethearts

Since my husband has reiterated to me a few times he does not want to be featured on the blog again (after being featured here, and a little bit here, and as a hand model here), I decided to dedicate this special Valentine's post to the little sweethearts in my life.

Kendall: Love is not self-seeking

My oldest daughter, Kendall, is such a blessing to me!  She has more compassion in her little finger than I have in my whole body.  She sees the good in everyone and is such an encouragement to those around her.  She loves getting her team inspirational gifts before games and competitions.  If one of her friends has an important event or tryout, you can bet we are headed to the dollar store for some sort of good luck gift for them.  I love seeing how she continually show's Christ's love to others.

One of my favorite Kendall moments, was when she was about eight years old and finally got her overhand serve over the volleyball net.  I was so proud I immediately cried.  How could you not after seeing your child finally accomplish something they had worked so hard on?  She looked at me from the serve line, and mouthed, "Are you crying????" with the most puzzled look on her face.  Being a parent means bursting into tears at any moment because you're so in love.

Jess:  Love is Patient

You know the saying, never pray for patience.  One time at dinner, my husband prayed for patience!  I literally kicked him under the table.  What was he thinking?  Four years ago, patience entered our lives.  Our sweet Jess, is all boy; part Dennis the Menace, part Kevin McAllister (from Home Alone).  He is a sponge and loves to learn.  He especially loves to learn Bible stories...which is good, because that boy definitely needs to hide The Word in his heart.  He also loves to laugh; and his laugh is contagious.  Everyone that knows Jess, loves Jess.  He is a charmer!

Jess has a giving heart.  During Thanksgiving, he came up with the idea to bake treats for all of our neighbors and the local Fire Department.  He is a persistent little thing, so of course, we baked.  To my neighbors reading this, we did bake you a pumpkin roll, BUT none of you were home Thanksgiving morning, so the fire department got all the pumpkin rolls!  I also discovered during Christmas that he has the best ideas for presents.  I would say, "What should we get Daddy?"  And he would come up with the best idea...and keep it a secret until Christmas!  He's going to make a good husband one day!

Jentry:  Love is Kind

This little thing just melts my heart!  Partly because she looks so much like her big sister, which is a reminder of how fast time flies.  Her past times include: cuddling, reading books and playing babies.  She adores her big sister and loves to have dance parties with her.  She loves her big brother so much and tries her hardest to do everything he does, and usually succeeds.  I love how she can make her brother burst into laughter!

Jentry has the kindest heart.  If she gets herself a snack out of the refrigerator, she automatically gets one for Jess, too.  She is a people pleaser and will do whatever she thinks will make me happy, whether it's cleaning up toys, "helping" unload the dishwasher, or "cooking" dinner.  Her favorite thing to say is, "Can I help you?"  I love having her as my special helper each day.

I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's weekend and take a little time to tell the people you love how special they are to you!  If you're still looking for a Valentine's Day dinner idea, be sure to check out a few of my favorites below!
