Friday Faves

Hey, Friday, it's good to see you!  We're wrapping up our first full week of summer break around here, and boy, has it been a FULL week.  We are in summer time mode, big time, around here!

As always, on Friday, I am sharing five things about my week with you.

This week on the blog...

On Tuesday, I shared my Top Ten TV Series You Need To Binge Watch Now.  If you're looking forward to a low key weekend, check out a few of my suggestions.

                                                                          (Picture from poptower.com)

On Wednesday, I linked up with a few of my favorite bloggers for a series called The Kids Behind the Blog, where I interviewed my three kiddos.  In honor of Father's Day, this month's questions were all about Dad.

Last Friday I was spending a rainy afternoon folding laundry when my neighbor text me and asked if I wanted Ranger tickets for that night.  Once I secured a babysitter (Gigi to the rescue), I text her back that we absolutely would take them.  We let our neighbors borrow eggs; they let us borrow Ranger tickets.  It seems fair, right?  Well, except these Ranger tickets are on the 11th row behind home plate.  Ummm....I better start buying some fancy, farm fresh Eggs to repay them for these seats.  Heck, I may even buy a chicken for the backyard, just to have eggs ready at their demand.  You think the HOA would frown upon that?

Let's put it this way, if you're watching a game from behind a net...it's a good seat.

You know what's just as good as amazing Ranger seats?  Amazing Ranger parking!  Check out where we parked.  What?  I am pretty sure our Honda was parked closer than Beltre's fancy sports car.  I just have to reiterate how awesome our neighbors are again!  Thank you Bryan and Kristen!!

No, I did not eat this, but here are a few of the trademark Ranger menu items.  They are bigger than that baseball bat next to them!  The teriyaki kabob looked pretty good, but the the Boomstick (the chili dog pictured)...not so much.  I hope I don't get kicked out of Texas for that statement.

We had a great night.  The rain held off for the evening and the Ranger's walked away with a victory!  Cue the Robert Earl Keen music...

And, it was Firework Friday at The Ballpark, so we got to enjoy an incredible firework show.

While we were at the Ranger game, I ran into Brandi from the Real Housewives of Dallas.  The Real Housewives are one of my guilty pleasures (sorry, Dad), so of course I had to ask for a quick picture.  She was the sweetest thing ever!  She not only took a picture, she introduced me to her friend and chatted a little bit.  She happen to mention something about a season two, so that made me a little excited.  I'll be honest, the first episode (or two) of The Real Housewives of Dallas had me shaking my head a little, but over the last few weeks, they have grown on me.

If you can see the look on her husband's face (behind me in the red shirt), I'm pretty sure he was like, "Oh crap, she's taking pictures."  I felt bad, because after I noticed her, she had a line form to take pictures with her.  I guess that's what she signed up for, though.

The rest of the week has been full of chauffeuring a teenager around, and play dates with little kids at the splash pad and pool.

On a quick trip to the craft store the kids suckered me into this sidewalk chalk paint set.  It was a little messy, but it entertained them, so it was well worth it.

Apparently, the end result is suppose to look like this... nice, pretty designs.

Our final product looked something like this....

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right?

Last, but certainly not least, I want to introduce you to a blog buddy of mine.  When I first started blogging, it never crossed my mind that I would form friendships in the blogging community, but I have "met" so many amazing woman from across the country.  I look forward to reading each of their posts to see what they have to say.  One of these blog buddies, I found in my own backyard!  Well...if my backyard was fifteen miles long, but she is in a nearby city.  Meet my friend, Jessica from Life.Love.Reality.

So, we live about fifteen miles apart now, but ironically her husband and I grew up about fifteen miles apart from each other in the Texas Hill Country, and even went to the same church for a little while in Wimberley while in high school.  Small world, right?

Jessica has such a genuine heart.  I look forward to reading her posts to catch up on what's going on with her sweet family everyday.  Her post yesterday about birthday planning was adorable.  Stop by Jessica's blog and give her a shout!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog.  I appreciate it so much!  I hope you all have a blessed weekend!

Emily

I am linking up with the Friday regulars today.

    1. The worst part of the sidewalk art has been tracking it inside for the last two days. Ugh! They love doing art projects, though, and art projects are so much easier to clean up outside. Have a great weekend!

  8. Eggs for Ranger tickets? Sounds like a pretty good trade to me (at least on your receiving end)!! Those are great seats. Do they hold season tickets? Or were these just some they had bought and couldn’t use? I haven’t seen one episode of the Real Housewives of Dallas! Whoa, crazy small world!! That’s great, though that she only lives 15 minutes from you! Happy weekend!!

    1. Thanks, Jacquelyn! We're having a fantastic summer so far. I need a baseball park that serves sushi or steak & grilled veggies...that probably wouldn't make the rest of America happy, though!

I'm so glad I found Jessica too...so adorable! So..I'll be heading up to Plano at the ass crack of dawn tomorrow...thanks for the heads up on traffic. Not sure yet if we are going to stay the night or make it a round trip day.
