What's Up Wednesday (June Edition)

It's the last Wednesday of the month and I am linking up with Sheaffer for What's Up Wednesday to share a little about what's going on in our world...

WHAT WE'RE EATING THIS WEEK...

Tuesday:  Fish Tacos (Recipe Coming Soon)
Wednesday:  Roasted Chicken, Green Beans, (the rest of the house indulged in mashed potatoes)
Thursday:  Grilled Chicken Kabobs with Squash and Red Bell Pepper (with Brown Rice)

(Confession: This is really last week's menu.  I just had to get that off my chest...OK, I feel better now)

WHAT I'M REMINISCING ABOUT...

We are headed to Silver Dollar City for vacation.  It's been ten years since we've been there.  Let me break that down for you; this girl is about to get her drivers license, but had just learned her sight words last time we were there.  It makes me realize how precious time is, and that I need to soak in every moment with all of my little sweeties!

WHAT I'M LOVING...

My Feti!  No I didn't mispell Yeti.  My husband has lovingly nicknamed my fake yeti "Feti,"  I bought it at WalMart for a fraction of the price of my husband's real Yeti and it works just as well.  Kendall and I both bought one and ordered a personalize vinyl sticker to jazz it up a bit.  It's helped me want to drink water so much more.

WHAT I'M WORKING ON...

My tan, girls!  You know you spend too much time at the pool, when halfway through your bath you realize you still have your visor (aka your pool hat) on.  #SummerTimeProbs

WHAT I'M EXCITED ABOUT...

VACATION!  Don't worry, you won't miss a thing!  I promise to give you a full wrap up!

WHAT I'M WATCHING...

I've already mentioned my Big Brother fascination, but I also recently got wrapped up (thanks to my pal Amanda) in the Southern Charm phenomenon.  Don't get me wrong, it's not life changing, but it is entertaining.  (P.S. I'm just on season two, so don't tell me what happens this season)

WHAT I'M WEARING...

Sunglasses are not something I splurge on.  Maybe one day, when my kids are grown, but for now, my sunglasses are reasonable.  I picked these Fila sunglasses up at Kohl's a few weeks ago when I was suppose to be Father's Day shopping, and love how they fit.  They are "Sports" which I think helps keep them on my face, and from slipping off.  I also really love the pop of pink.

WHAT I'M DOING THIS WEEKEND...

Celebrating our country's birthday, of course!  We also have supper club Sunday night, and this month, we are actually inviting the kiddos along and having a swim "party."  No, it won't be near as relaxing as our normal supper club, but our kids are great friends, too, so they'll be super excited about it.  Just don't get use to it, kids, next month it's supper close business as usual!

WHAT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH...

Mark and I celebrate eleven long blissful years of marriage next month.  We usually plan an anniversary getaway.  I look forward to recharging and having a little one on one time with my groom!

(Last year's getaway)

That's all I've got for you on this last Wednesday of June!  What's up with you this Wednesday?

Emily

  1. Your menu last week sounds delicious! Not sure if I could have resisted those mashed potatoes, though! Yum!

    1. I know, mashed potatoes are hard to resist, but since I've gone "low carb" I'm amazed at how much better I feel!

  2. Your Fetis are adorable. I love that you each personalized them. About how much liquid do they hold? I can't wait to see you vacation journals and photos. Happy early anniversary!

    1. Thanks, Jacie! We have the 20 ounce, but there's also a 30 ounce that I think I want to get. After I fill the 20 ounce with ice it doesn't leave much room for water, but it's a good size for coffee on the go!

  4. Great menu (even if it was last week’s!!!)! I am slacking on the menu planning lately. I blame it on vacation brain. That’s all I can think about and focus on lately. I can’t wait to hear all about Silver Dollar City. Those sunglasses look great. I am so HARD on sunglasses. I have a bad habit of just throwing them in my purse and they get scratched or broken. I usually buy mine at Ross. Do you have any ideas where your weekend getaway may be this year? I love weekend getaways!

    1. I am so rough on my sunglasses, too. I tried on some AMAZING ones at the Sunglasses Hut, but I know at the ripe old age of 36, I'm not ready for them yet, I'll stick to my Kohls, Ross & TJ Maxx finds for now.

    1. We are huge James fans, too! This cast looks really good, and usually it takes me a while to warm up to them, so I'm hoping that's a good sign!

    1. Yes!! It's definitely worth a shot! My theory is, if I leave it at the pool or forget it at the park...it's less than $10 lost.

  7. Amen, amen to the visor thing. Girl we just got home from our 3rd day in a row at the pool. I think my girls have gills. Side note I am LOVING those sunglasses and I know my friend Anna would too. I hope SDC treated you well. Did you ride the newest coaster?!?!

  10. Hey beautiful! Girl, I cannot wait for your fish taco recipe! I'm craving fish and I always want to eat tacos so you know I'll love it :) Look at how fast your baby girl has grown! Makes me sad to even look back on pictures from five minutes ago when my daughter was itty bitty. Last year I had to splurge on sunglasses - Costas - because my eyes were giving me a fit. I wish I had bought a more feminine pair but we were in a rush to get me some relief. Maybe next summer! Happy anniversary! He's so lucky to have you for the long run and I can say from the blog...you're pretty blessed with him too! Happy 4th Sweetness! Thank you so much for the little plugs! <3 it sunshine!
