Christmas In July

Happy Monday!  I have been excited about this post for a while.  In June, I signed up for a Christmas in July gift exchange hosted by Liz, Courtney, and Jamie.  Basically, I'm paired up with another blogger, we share some basic info about our kids, we pick out gifts for each others kids, and mail it to them.  Who doesn't love getting something fun in the mail, right?

I had the pleasure of buying gifts for Dara from Not in Jersey.  I've been reading her blog for a few months, so I was excited to get to buy for her kids.  I forgot to take pictures of what we sent her, so you'll have to check out Dara's blog to see.

But, first...

Keri over at Living In This Season bought for my family.  I had not discovered Keri's blog until this exchange, but I am definitely a fan now.  Her posts are so insightful.  I especially loved her recent post, What I Want to Teach My Daughter About Friendship.  Once you put the kids to bed tonight and you've got some quiet time, go check out Keri's blog.  You'll be inspired!

My kids knew we would be expecting a package and were thrilled to know they would be getting something special for themselves!

Keri even wrapped the box in Christmas themed paper!

Jess had seen a commercial for Bunch O Balloons, and was over the top excited to see that he was now the proud owner of some! #sistersbeware

Kendall was excited to get a nail kit.

Jentry had a blast opening her gifts.

Here's the loot we received:

As a family, we got a Giant Bubble Maker (which we haven't used yet, but are looking forward to it this week), Bunch O Balloons, and Dory & Nemo stickers.

Jentry received a paint with water book, her very own nail polish and nail stickers, a book, and "princess" jewelry.

Kendall received a manicure kit and two fun nail polishes.

Jess received a Cars and Truck Activity book with lots of fun stickers, a water gun, and a tractor.

Keri, you absolutely nailed it with this gift exchange.  My kids were thrilled with their gifts!  It was the perfect surprise for a long summer day.

We had a blast with this gift exchange, and look forward to participating in the next one.  Don't forget to check out what we sent Dara's kids!

Have a great week!

  5. So sweet that she sent a little something to everyone. You have to post a giant bubble photo to when you get around to that because how cool would that be?! I didn't know you hadn't connected with Keri yet! She is amazing, love her so much.

  7. Oh wow...such fun stuff! It is great that each kid got things that were perfect for them. I wouldn't mind a cute manicure kit myself. Maybe she will give mama a manicure.

    1. That sounds like a great idea! I offered her $25 to potty train Jentry today...she didn't go for that, but maybe she'd give me a pedicure instead. ;)
