Friday Favorites!

We made it to another Friday!  We're looking forward to a fun weekend of friends, family, and maybe a little pool time to cool off in this H-O-T weather!  But first, let me share a few of my favorites with you from the past week.

Blog life was a bit slow this week.  Why, you ask?  Oh, maybe because I was a little busy with a certain two year old.  Between going to the ER after putting a bead in her nose, making it rain flour in my kitchen, "borrowing" my lip gloss and helping herself to ice cream, I have been a little preoccupied this week.  Yes, this all happened in the last seven days.  This is the stuff I am going to miss one day, right?

I did happen to make time for one of my favorite link ups, though.  If you missed my post Wednesday, I interviewed The Kids Behind the Blog...I even included a video.  I'd love for you to check out my little cuties.

Just because my little corner of the blog world was slow this week doesn't mean there weren't some fantastic posts out there, though.  Beth was insightful in her post on Monday titled "My Perfectly Imperfect Faith."  As a Christian, I struggle with living Christ-like, yet accepting that I am going to mess up...AND Christians that I admire mess up, too.  I am thankful that His mercies are new every day!  Definitely check out Beth's post if you have ever felt that way.

If you are raising a daughter...or heck, even a female (which I'm sure 99.9% of my readers are...hi Dad), you must check out Keri over at Living In This Season's post yesterday.  What To Teach Our Daughters About Friendship was full of wisdom and encouragement.  In fact, if you have a few hours to kill, really explore Keri's blog.  She is so insightful!

Speaking of friendships, a dear friend of mine that has already raised her family invited a few of my friends and our children to come swimming at her house this week.  Our kids had the best time, and I got to spend time with a few of my favorite ladies.

Kendall was actually home some this week, and we spent a lot (I always feel guilty when I use the phrase "a lot" because I remember my 7th grade English teacher saying that it was not a word, but man do I use it a lot...oops, there I go again) driving.  She is taking her drivers test later this summer, so I am trying my hardest to loosen my reign on her so she can gain independence.  It is so hard though when she looks like this driving a car...

But, in my eyes, she still looks like this...

Pray for sweet Kendall this week, please.  She is headed out with our church group early Saturday morning for an eight day mission trip.  Please pray for safe traveling for them, and that God will be able to use them this week where they are serving.

Did you ever watch soap operas?  Umm..no, oh, me either (well, unless you count Young & The Restless from like 1992-2012, when Disney Channel took over my television).  Well, I have heard that back in the day soap operas always left you with a cliff hanger on Friday, so you'd tune in next week.  I am going to give that a try.  This week, I made fish tacos, and they were soooo good, BUT if you want the recipe, you're going to have to "tune in" next week when I am linking up with my pals Johanna and Heather for their recipe link up.

That's all I have for you today!  I hope you all have a blessed weekend!

Emily

I'm linking up with my Friday regulars today.

  3. Oh goodness...raining flour in the kitchen looks like a fun day! I'm cracking up about using alot....I seriously always think about it when I use it too. I mean....I feel like I was told it wasn't appropriate but evidently was not given a good enough replacement.

  5. Isn't life with a 2 year old...ummmm...adventurous?!?! LOL That's the best word I can come up with for it right now. Hehe =)
Isn't pool time the best in the summer. I'm trying to convince my hubby to fence in our backyard and put in an in ground pool. But that's not going well. He doesn't see putting that much money into a pool when we can only use it for about 4 months a year! ha!
    Have a great weekend Friend!!

  10. Yes, dad is reading! Checking grammar, style, and all associated literary devices! Plus, I'm reminiscing internally about the same experiences I had when you were around that age. I loved all of your growing-up years and, I think, I love where you are right now even more. What a great Mom you are! What a wonderful Christian woman you are! I love you, Em!
