First off, you should know I am NOT a sit at home Netflix and Chill kind of person. I am a "Let's grab some coffee, shop for a while, grab some lunch, go to a movie, run by the grocery store, have some friends over, hangout at the pool" kind of girl. I want to pack as much as I can into a day. Much to my husband's dismay, my weekends are not spent sitting at home and getting caught up on sleep. I want to go! I am also the type of person that would much rather have tickets to something than a gift. An experience is much more valuable to me than an object. With that said, let's put FOMO in the books and start GOMO....Going Out More Often! Let's live life while we still can!
Here's a few things we've done this summer to Get Out More Often. #GOMO
Rocked out at a Guns N' Roses Concert...
Fan-girled out at a Prophets and Outlaws Concert...
Went to my first Wade Bowen Concert...
Became a Parrot head at Jimmy Buffett...
Visited the local aquarium with my mom and kids...
Took Jentry to her first movie...
Cracked up at the show Buckets and Boards with the family...
Visited Silver Dollar City...
Saw the Harlem Globetrotters at Silver Dollar City...
Scored some amazing seats (thanks to our generous neighbors) at a Texas Ranger's game...
And, GOMO doesn't always mean spending money.
We spent many afternoons at the pool...
Attended a parade...
Spent some time at the lake...
Are you looking for something to do this weekend? The folks over at Eventbrite have a list of events from festivals to expos and more on their website (or, if you are hosting an event, contact Eventbrite to publicize your event). There may be an exciting adventure just around the corner, that you might miss out on...
This post isn't to make you see what all you have missed out on. No! It's to inspire you to make some plans of your own! There are a few more weeks of summer left, let's make the most of it and #GOMO! Don't miss out! Let's get something on that calendar!

How fun! You did so many fun things this summer. I may have FOMO! Just kidding!
ReplyDeleteNo way! I read your blog, you're definitely in the GOMO mindset!
DeleteGirl, I am the same way! Give me an experience anytime! I love when my husband gives me tickets as gifts. You have had such a FUN summer! I am not even going to lie, I have to use Urban Dictionary way more than I would like to admit! Hahaha! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite gifts my husband ever got me was season tickets to the Dallas Summer Musicals. We had a blast at all the shows!
DeleteLove this!!! I am typing up a post almost like this for tomorrow's post (great minds think alike). I didn't know the hash tag FOMO! I love the GOMO hash tag :) Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteToo funny!! I can't wait to read it tomorrow. You guys have had an adventurous summer, too!
DeleteI love everything about this post!! You should make it a monthly link upπ
ReplyDeleteI saw the title and I was like whatπππ. I knew some of the "terms" but not all of them!! One of my best friends daughters told me one time that my outfit was "on fleek". I was like is that bad or good?? She explained that it was a good thing. HA π
A linkup would be fun...we may have to work on that!!
DeleteI've been guilty of using "hip" terms in the wrong way before and being corrected by my daughter! Thank goodness for teenagers that love to correct! ;)
Love the idea of GOMO! I have to say I had no idea what it meant until I read your post. :)
ReplyDeleteOne day I'll want to stay home and watch Wheel of Fortune, but in the meantime I'm just going to keep going!! ;)
DeleteLove every bit of this post! Way to get out and enjoy life to the fullest!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! I'm sure my husband wished we could slow down a little! Ha!!
DeleteLove this post and the attitude of GOMO! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tanya!! Hope you have a great weekend, too!
DeleteLove the idea of #GOMO we tend to go a lot in the summer then life haults when we start school I want to/ need to work this into our school life.
ReplyDeleteWe are the same way. When we do get out, it's usually a school event. I definitely need to keep the #GOMO mentality up all year long.
DeleteWhat a summer, LOVE your sweet face!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Andrea!! We've had a busy, but fun summer!
DeleteI love this! You only live once and I agree with GOMO!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Johannah! You are so right! Let's make the most of it!
DeleteI definitely need to #GOMO haha...but actually I need just one weekend to #GSD (see if you can figure that one out) at my house!! I want my kids rooms painted so badly. My oldest daughter gave Keith & I tickets to see Charlie Robison on the 25th here in town and I'm super excited. Going to see live music is a favorite and we rarely do it.
ReplyDeleteToo funny because on the rare Saturday that we are home I always tell Mark that it's a GSD day. I thought I had made it up. Great minds think alike!!
DeleteYou are going to have a blast at Charlie Robison! I don't think it's possible to go to a bad concert. I just love any kind of live music! Have a fantastic getaway this weekend!
Love this post! We've been trying to get out more too. I love all of your ideas/suggestions. It looks like y'all have had a ton of fun!
