#GOMO is the new #FOMO

One of the benefits of having a teenager is being "in the know" of all the trendy new words and terms.  I know if something is "on fleek" it's a good thing.  If she wants to put something "on her story" it means it's going viral.  And, I also know that many people look at Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with FOMO.  Do you have FOMO?  I definitely know there have been times in my life when I have had bad cases of FOMO.  Fear Of Missing Out!

First off, you should know I am NOT a sit at home Netflix and Chill kind of person.  I am a "Let's grab some coffee, shop for a while, grab some lunch, go to a movie, run by the grocery store, have some friends over, hangout at the pool" kind of girl.  I want to pack as much as I can into a day.  Much to my husband's dismay, my weekends are not spent sitting at home and getting caught up on sleep.  I want to go!  I am also the type of person that would much rather have tickets to something than a gift.  An experience is much more valuable to me than an object.  With that said, let's put FOMO in the books and start GOMO....Going Out More Often!  Let's live life while we still can!

Here's a few things we've done this summer to Get Out More Often.  #GOMO

Rocked out at a Guns N' Roses Concert...

Fan-girled out at a Prophets and Outlaws Concert...

Went to my first Wade Bowen Concert...

Became a Parrot head at Jimmy Buffett...

Visited the local aquarium with my mom and kids...

Took Jentry to her first movie...

Cracked up at the show Buckets and Boards with the family...

Visited Silver Dollar City...

Saw the Harlem Globetrotters at Silver Dollar City...

Scored some amazing seats (thanks to our generous neighbors) at a Texas Ranger's game...

And, GOMO doesn't always mean spending money.

We spent many afternoons at the pool...

Attended a parade...

Spent some time at the lake...

Are you looking for something to do this weekend?  The folks over at Eventbrite have a list of events from festivals to expos and more on their website (or, if you are hosting an event, contact Eventbrite to publicize your event).  There may be an exciting adventure just around the corner, that you might miss out on...

This post isn't to make you see what all you have missed out on.  No!  It's to inspire you to make some plans of your own!  There are a few more weeks of summer left, let's make the most of it and #GOMO!  Don't miss out!  Let's get something on that calendar!

I saw the title and I was like whatπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. I knew some of the "terms" but not all of them!! One of my best friends daughters told me one time that my outfit was "on fleek". I was like is that bad or good?? She explained that it was a good thing. HA πŸ˜‚

    1. A linkup would be fun...we may have to work on that!!
I've been guilty of using "hip" terms in the wrong way before and being corrected by my daughter! Thank goodness for teenagers that love to correct! ;)

    1. We are the same way. When we do get out, it's usually a school event. I definitely need to keep the #GOMO mentality up all year long.

  11. I definitely need to #GOMO haha...but actually I need just one weekend to #GSD (see if you can figure that one out) at my house!! I want my kids rooms painted so badly. My oldest daughter gave Keith & I tickets to see Charlie Robison on the 25th here in town and I'm super excited. Going to see live music is a favorite and we rarely do it.

You are going to have a blast at Charlie Robison! I don't think it's possible to go to a bad concert. I just love any kind of live music! Have a fantastic getaway this weekend!
