Product Review Thursday

Hey friends!  Today I am linking up with my pal, Amanda, for Product Review Thursday.  You may remember from our last review, that Amanda and I decided to linkup on these posts to give you a complete view of a product, and not just one opinion.  It was obvious on our last Product Review Thursday, when I was all about the Snackwell Biscuits, and Amanda wanted to serve them to her horse.

This week it's all about the protein!  You know I talk about food too much when my four year old son told me the other day he thought his body needed a little protein.  A good protein snack for him is a yogurt, though.  Today, we're talking protein shakes.  I just started working out a few months ago, so this was the perfect time to try these three shakes that Influenster sent me for free.  Remember, they sent me the product for free, but my opinion is completely unbiased.

Let's get the worst out of the way...Plant Protein.  This vanilla flavored shake is Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Soy Free and Nut Free.  This was not my favorite.  Amanda said it tasted like Play Doh, and she is exactly right.  I only took two sips of this shake and I wanted to make like Taylor Swift and "Shake it off..."  It has 19 grams of protein, and it does mix up well, though.  That's really all I can say about that one...

Step Fit N' Full Shake was next on my shake journey.  I had really high hopes for this one, because it was cookies and cream flavor.  To be honest, the flavor was OK, I just wished it had mixed up better.  Maybe that was part of the cookies and cream effect, but I wish it had been more smooth.  This shake only had 14 grams of protein.

My favorite out of the group, was actually the one I thought I would like the least.  The Whey Tech Pro 24 by BodyTech strawberries and cream flavor was actually pretty good.  It reminded me of a strawberry Slim Fast.  It mixed up well, and wins the protein battle with 24 grams of protein.  If I had to pick a winner of the three, this wins, hands down!

The real winner of this challenge, might be this handy, dandy shaker by BodyTech.  We have other shakers, but the mouth piece is big, and sometimes the metal shaker ball hits my teeth, or gets lost in the dishwasher.  The BodyTech shaker has an oval spout on the mouthpiece, and has a plastic mixer that fits nicely into the cup Go over to Amanda's blog to see what I'm talking about, she has a picture of the inside).

All three of these protein shakes are available at The Vitamin Shoppe ranging from $19.99 to $24.99 for 12 packages.

Check back next Thursday when Amanda and I are chatting about coffee...something I'm a little more familiar with!

Have a terrific day!

Emily

  2. I am definitely not a fan of plant protein so I think your winner definitely would be my winner too.
