A Party Fit For A Princess

You may remember that two of my children had back to back birthdays last month.  October was a little bit of a busy month around here, and I never had the chance to share their birthday parties with you.  To be honest, I never shared any of the details of Kendall's birthday party either...and it was in February.  Oops!  Over the next few weeks I am planning on filling you in on all the details of their special days.

We originally had planned on doing the kid's parties together, because some of their friends are our family friends, and we thought it would be easier, BUT after thinking about it, I really wanted them to each have their own day of celebrating.  I am so glad we decided to do it this way.  Both kids had a great day!

For Jentry's party, we went with a princess theme.  I didn't want her to feel overwhelmed with guests, so we basically did a little play date with three of her closest friends (and her grandmother's of course).  When party planning, I love a good theme...because I love a good pun!  Even though three year old's can't read...and probably don't get puns...

Since, our guest list was small, I opted for giving each guest a little gift instead of a goody bag.  Going with the princess theme, each guest received a pair of princess shoes and two candy bracelets.

I placed the shoes & candy in a couple of pieces or orange tissue paper, and wrapped a little green duct tape around the top to make it look like a pumpkin.

The picture is a little blurry, but it says: Thank you for coming to my party?  Take these slippers and hurry home before you turn into a pumpkin.

Even though we went with a princess theme, I really wanted it to be simple and elegant.  I ran into Dollar Tree to pick up a few things and found most of my party supplies there unexpectedly.  I really looked for some pink placemats, but after coming up unsuccessful, I opted for some scrapbook paper.  It was a good choice, because we could just throw them away after the party, but it gave the table a pop of color.  My mom picked up a pink long stem rose for each of the princesses to take home with them after the party.

For the centerpiece, I wrapped a balloon in toile, glued it to a craft stick and secured it with a ribbon.  I stuck the craft stick into a Styrofoam cube and placed it in a teacup from my china.  I thought it needed something else, so I added the pearls spilling from the top.

It wouldn't be a good party without good food, right?  I let the birthday girl pick a few of her favorites, and I added a little princess power to each choice...

Magic Wand Fruit Kabobs

Cinderella's Pumpkins (which are actually oranges with a celery stem)

I Think It's Funny We Finish Each Other's Sandwiches (Ham & Cheese Sliders & Heart Shaped PB&J's)

Chip's Chips

Ariel's Fish Friends

After lunch, the girls princesses had a dance party, played, opened gifts, and decorated sugar cookies.

And, then it was cake time...

I hope all of this sweet girl's dreams come true.  She is such a blessing to me!

We had such a special day with these forever friends!

Thanks for stopping my my corner of the world today!
